I call myself a "papermaking artist" as I make decorative handmade paper which I use to create works of art and practical paper objects. I am constantly experimenting to find new and different methods of producing papers and pulps to further my teaching.
I began my business "Pulpitations" over 4 years ago in the Courtyard at Dalby Forest near Pickering on the beautiful North York Moors. I make and sell my artwork and products from here and run workshops both in my studio and elsewhere.

The trees are finally coming into leaf here in Dalby and the Forest is returning to a sea of green! Visitors are beginning to emerge and hopefully this warmer weather will attract more people to explore and enjoy these beautiful surroundings.
I have been busy making new work and my handmade paper lamps and backlit table stands are also now being stocked in a new gallery Bils & Rye www.bilsandrye.com which opened up in Nunnington earlier this year. The gallery has a wonderful selection of contemporary 3d object d'art in a beautiful North Yorkshire village, home to National Trust property Nunnington Hall.
I shall be attending several public events over the next couple of months:The Book Lovers family event at Helmsley Walled Garden on Saturday 18th May; Dalby Discovery Day on 2nd June; The Great Yorkshire Show on 9th/10th/11th July; The Deer Shed Festival on 19th/20th/21st July. I will be providing papermaking taster sessions at these events and you can check out details on my Events page.
My studio is open throughout the year Tuesdays to Saturdays 11am - 6pm (other times by appointment) and you are very welcome to visit and have a go at making a piece of handmade paper! However I do have workshops and events elsewhere from time to time so if you are making a special visit be sure to check the day before and I can arrange a toll entry pass.
