Thank you for visiting Papermaking at Pulpitations and welcome to my website! I hope you will be inspired by my work and the wonderful world of papermaking.

I call myself a "papermaking artist" as I make decorative handmade paper which I use to create works of art and practical paper objects. I am constantly experimenting to find new and different methods of producing papers and pulps to further my teaching and for my own work.

I began my business "Pulpitations" 6 years ago in the Courtyard at Dalby Forest near Pickering on the beautiful North York Moors. I make and sell my lamps and products from here and run workshops both in my studio and elsewhere.

Add your name to my mailing list on the left of this page to receive updates of news and events. I look forward to seeing you at my studio or hearing from you.

News: February 2015

There are signs of spring around and the birds are happily singing here in Dalby Forest!

The school half term holiday is fast approaching and the good news is my studio will be open  to visitors from Saturday 14th February (details on my In the Studio page) As usual I will be having pulps ready for papermaking so if you fancy having a go then come on down! Donations will be going to the Soup Kitchen project in Cape Town - last year's total was £565 so thanks to all of you who participated.

If you are a teacher, a classroom assistant or you work with children then you may be interested in a Paper Crafts Workshop taking place in Harrogate on Tuesday 3rd March. This event along with many other educational workshops is provided by the Yorkshire Agricultural Society and is FREE! For more information go to my Events Page. There are just a few places left.

I am returning to The British Craft Trade Fair in April at the Yorkshire Showground in Harrogate so I am currently working on new designs and products which is very exciting! I shall be on Stand 110 so if you're visiting do come over and see me!

I run private workshops in my studio throughout the year or I can travel to work with a larger group at your chosen venue. Likewise I am happy to travel across and out of the county to run school workshops.

Please don't hesitate to contact me if you would like more information about my work, papermaking kits, workshops or events.

Happy Papermaking!

Niki Hampson
