Thank you for visiting Papermaking at Pulpitations and welcome to my website! I hope you will be inspired by my work and the wonderful world of papermaking.

I call myself a "papermaking artist" as I make decorative handmade paper which I use to create works of art and practical paper objects. I am constantly experimenting to find new and different methods of producing papers and pulps to further my teaching and for my own work.

I began my business "Pulpitations" 6 years ago in the Courtyard at Dalby Forest near Pickering on the beautiful North York Moors. I make and sell my lamps and products from here and run workshops both in my studio and elsewhere.

Add your name to my mailing list on the left of this page to receive updates of news and events. I look forward to seeing you at my studio or hearing from you.

News: October 2014

Autumn is now well and truly upon us and it won't be long before we'll be thinking about and planning for Christmas!

This is a wonderful time to be out collecting richly coloured leaves, seeds, pods, bark and all sorts of natural treasures found on the ground. My flower/leaf presses are now full, lavender and herbs are drying out on newspapers and skeleton leaves are soaking and unfurling in water. In the coming weeks I will be using these materials to create new work.

My next selling event will be the St Nicholas Fayre at Barley Hall, York (off Stonegate) November 27th - 30th www.barleyhall/ .I will have a range of tea-light holders, lamps, wrapped soaps, coasters, albums and many more handmade paper gift items.

I shall be at Countryside Live again this year at the Great Yorkshire Showground in the Create and Explore area providing papermaking sessions for all. This is a wonderful family event with animal shows and demonstrations, trade stands, country crafts, sport activities & displays and more!

As I have many events outside of my studio and am regularly working on commissions, my studio is only open to the public at selected times of the year. It will be open for the school half term holiday from Saturday 25th October to Sunday 2nd November 11am-4pm. If you want to visit another time then please contact me by email or phone (see Contacts page).

I run private workshops in my studio throughout the year either small groups (up to 6) or I can travel to work with a larger group at your chosen venue. Likewise I am happy to travel across and out of the county to run school workshops.

If you would like to take up papermaking I have a range of kits on my Shop page for you to choose from and order. Happy papermaking!
